A dental bridge is a method of replacing one or more missing teeth to restore chewing function and esthetics. The missing teeth are replaced with false teeth known as pontics. This is accomplished by connecting the pontic(s) to neighboring teeth or dental implants. While many bridge variations have been created over the years, there are two main methods: Traditional Bridges and Maryland Bridges.
Traditional Bridges are connected via crowns placed on the adjacent teeth or dental implants.
Maryland Bridges are connected via wings bonded onto the adjacent teeth. Maryland Bridges are mainly reserved for front teeth.
