We believe in utilizing the latest technology to improve quality of care as well as your experience as a patient. We are equipped with CEREC CAD CAM technology with the addition of our new Prime Mill and Prime Scan digital scanner from Densply Sirona.
What does this mean for our patients? No more messy impressions or temporaries. We will mill your crown in-house and you can leave with your new permanent crown the same day. We also use the Prime Scan to provide orthodontic treatment using Sure Smile clear orthodontic aligners.
A dental crown, sometimes called a “cap” is often recommended to protect teeth when they have been structurally compromised by large cavities, cracks/fractures, or have previously had a root canal. The crown is placed on top of the tooth and held in place with dental cement. Crowns can provide strength to teeth and reduce risk of future tooth fracture. Crowns may also be used for cosmetic purposes to treat teeth which are misshaped or have heavy developmental staining which cannot be removed with tooth whitening.
Dental Crowns can be made of a variety of materials, with the most common materials being porcelain/ceramic, gold, and zirconia. If you are in need of a crown, your dentist can evaluate the tooth, your bite, and wear patterns on your teeth to recommend which crown materials would best protect your tooth and provide the esthetics you desire.
